A Stripped Version of Google Nexus One Coming to India very soon

Google launched its new phone – Nexus one manufactured by HTC on January 5th 2010. There were many speculations about its launch in India. Now it is confirmed that it will be launched in India in a Mini version which will cost lesser with some features cut down.

This was revealed by Ankit from CNBC-TV 18 after an “editorial meet” with Google India head Shailesh Rao. Ankit wrote:

Nexus One will not come to India in its US avatar, the India specific Google Phone may be a stripped down version and priced lower!

No details of the price, launch date or the features about the phone is revealed yet. With the new Android 2.1 OS, Unlocked version and cheaper price Nexus one will be a great competition to Apple’s I-phone 3G that was launched on 2008 which was a locked version.

But we are sure, if this phone is priced reasonably in India, something around 10-12K, then its surely going to bring a smart phone revolution in India. What do you think about it?

Thanks Amit for the tip.
