On January 5, 2018, Bharti Airtel, India’s largest telecommunications service provider partnered with leading device manufacturer itel to launch budget-friendly 4G smartphones in India. The partnership is in accordance with Airtel’s ‘Mera Pehla Smartphone’ initiative which provides an ecosystem of partners to manufacture the budget-friendly 4G smartphone.
Under this partnership, Airtel with will be launching two budget-friendly smartphones namely itel A40 and itel A41. Both smartphones will come bundled with a monthly recharge pack of Rs 169 from Airtel, offering generous data and calling benefits. Apart from that itel is also offering 100 days replacement guarantee on both the smartphones.
Both smartphones have got a smart key built on the back that can be used for clicking photos, hang calls, activate torch and lot more.
Itel A40
A40 from itel shall be featuring a 5-inch FWVGA display having 480 x 854 pixels resolution and a pixel density of 196 ppi. It will be having Android 7.0 nougat out of the box, updates to the same aren’t sure as of now. A40 will be powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz. RAM supported would be 1 GB coupled with 8 GB of internal memory which would be further expandable up to 32 GB via micro SD cards. It also comes with Mali 400 MP2 GPU for graphics processing.
Camera department wouldn’t offer much with 5 MP rear camera having autofocus functionality and 2 MP front-facing camera with flash.
The smartphone would support 4G VoLTE and ViLTE networks. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi, 3G/4G/2G, GPS,3.5 mm audio jack and Bluetooth including a removable 2400 mAh battery. It would be shipped with Black, Rose Gold and Dark Blue colors to choose from.
Itel A41
A41 from itel features a 5-inch FWVGA display having 480 x 854 pixels resolution. Android 7.0 nougat will be the choice of OS out of the box. A41 will be having a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz. RAM would be 1 GB coupled with 8 GB of internal memory which is further expandable up to 32 GB via micro SD cards. It also comes with Mali 400 MP2 GPU for graphics processing.
Camera department remains the same as of A40 with 5 MP rear camera having autofocus functionality and 2 MP front-facing camera with flash.

Price in India
Itel A40 and A41 shall be available for Rs. 4599 and Rs. 4699 respectively. There is also an effective cash back of Rs. 1500 which shall be offered to the customers over a period of 36 months. After the cash back effective pricing of itel A40 and itel A41 would be Rs. 3099 and Rs. 3199 respectively.
Customer needs to recharge their accounts in any denominations counting to Rs. 3000 over a period of 18 months to get entitled to the first set of cash back of Rs. 500. Completing another set of recharges counting to Rs 3000 in another 18 months will provide Rs. 1000 cash back.
