Bharti Airtel, India?s one of the largest cellular service provider is all set to launch its services in the island country of Sri Lanka from today. As per sources, Airtel has roped in its former brand ambassador ? Shahrukh Khan to look after its brand promotion in Sri Lanka.
As of now, Lanka has only limited number of mobile phone operators namely Dialog Telecom, Hutchison and few other state run and private operators. Hope, in this time of recession Airtel is going to make good, the losses it faced in the last quarters in India. Also, as per reports the mobile phone penetration is too low in Lanka. May be this is the reason Airtel is optimistic about getting considerably high amount of customers.
