As we reported earlier about the Apple event, couple of minutes ago, Apple took off curtain and announced its new iPhone, their best iPhone ever named as iPhone 5. Here’s a roundup of what’s new in the iPhone 5.
- Completely made out of a combination of Glass and Aluminum
- With about 7.6 mm thick, it becomes world’s thinnest phone as claimed by Apple
- 20% lighter than its younger one, weighing just 112 GMs
- New and bigger 4” screen with retina display
- 326 PPI, 1136×640 screen resolution
- A6 processor – 20% faster to its A5 counterpart as claimed by Apple
- Improved battery life – With about 225 hours of standby time
- Improved camera (with features such as Panoramic mode, Backside illuminated, IR filter)
- HD front camera for better face-time experience
- Improved video capturing
- Facetime now supported over cellular connection
- Improved charging connector – (now reversible and easier to use)
- Updated OS – iOS6 with many new features (we will be covering in a separate post)
- Available in 2 colors – Black & White
- Pre-booking starts Sept. 14
- Starts shipping on 21st September
- To be available in US, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore
- Will be releasing in 100 more countries with 240 carriers from 28th September
- Priced same as earlier iPhone – $199 for 16GB, $299 – 32GB, $399 – 64Gb
