Samsung has launched a new flagship device which is a dual screen flip on style smart phone with some mighty and beefy specs. It has been announced in China with Leader 8 as the model name and SM –G9298 as the code name. A flip phone with a dual screen isn’t something new or unique, earlier Motorola also had some same design element with the Moto Razr which was kind of a success in Indian markets. We aren’t sure if Samsung is planning to launch the same in India or not but this could mean the Flip phone era might make a comeback.
As far as the specs are concerned you get a clamshell smart phone which is 16 MM thick or 15.9 MM to be precise and weighs 235 grams.
Leader 8 from Samsung will feature dual 4.2 inches Super AMOLED display which is placed externally and internally like on a flip phone. Display resolution on the both is 1080 x 1920 pixels.
It will run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset & Adreno 530 GPU. For memory, it uses 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal memory and also supports expandability up to 256 GB via microSD cards.
The flip phone will run Android but the version isn’t confirmed as of now. Will be shipped with hybrid dual SIM support and 4G LTE connections out of the box.
The camera department is also not too far away when quality is considered, as the primary camera is a 12 MP sensor which sports autofocus and f/1.7 aperture which will shoot awesome low light pictures and videos can be shot at 3840 x 2160 pixels at 30FPs. The secondary camera on the front will have a 5 MP sensor with f/1.9 aperture.
Fingerprint sensor sits below the camera with the standard Samsung heart rate sensor on the back. You get 2300 mAH battery which as per sources does support wireless charging and fast charging with Black to be the only color available. Pricing of the same is not yet confirmed.
