HUAWEI Nova 3 gets ViLTE Calling Support via OTA software update

Video calling support through telecom operator’s network was something that was really looked upon. Huawei is always committed to bring the latest updates to its consumers timely across its range of devices. Consumers having Nova 3 shall now be able to make video calls without the need of a third party application.

In a recent announcement, the company has introduced a new OTA to their powerful and stylish Huawei Nova 3. The smartphone shall now be able to support ViLTE (Video over LTE) which would enable video calling and voice chat services without the need for a third party application. Google’s April security patch for improved security services shall also be bundled in the same OTA.

Company has also announced the same support for all the Huawei devices soon in the future. The ViLTE feature is a conversational video service, based on the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) core network. Using ViLTE the telecom operators network would be leveraged to take advantage of video telephony services providing an enhanced and immersive experience.

ViLTE would need you to opt for a different tariff plan which includes ViLTE services. The service is currently available with Vodafone Idea, Reliance JIO, and Airtel only.

Huawei Nova 3 was earlier launched in August 2018 with 7.3 mm thickness having an overall weight of 166g. The phone boasts an aluminum frame with glass covering on the front and rear side. Inside the phone users shall be welcomed with the flagship Hisilicon Kirin 970 chipset on an Octa-Core CPU coupled with Mali G72 MP12 GPU.

The phone was initially launched with Android 8.1 Oreo and is promised to get upgraded to Android 9.0 with companies custom skin EMUI 9. The phone is offered in two memory option 4GB/6GB whereas the internal remains the same 128 GB on both the variants. The internal memory is further expandable up to 256 GB via micro sd card.

On the rear side, you get a dual camera setup with 16 MP shooter and 24 MP secondary snapper along with f/1.8 aperture, LED flash, HDR and panorama. The front side again comprises of a dual setup with 24MP (wide) and 2 MP (depth sensor) shooters. The front panel also comes with a dedicated infrared face recognition sensor.

Connectivity features include 3.5 mm audio jack, WLAN, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, and USB type C. The fingerprint sensor is rear mounted coupled with accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass sensors. Nova 3 from Huawei is powered by a non-removable 3750 mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging. The 6GB/128GB variant retails for Rs. 29,999 on Amazon with black and iris purple colors to choose from.
