In a move to establish itself in the highly competitive mid-range smartphone market, Intex announced the launch of its flagship phone, the Aqua i7. The phone was unveiled by Bollywood Actor-Director, Farhan Akhtar; he mentioned that he was proud to be associated with an Indian company, Intex.
The Intex Aqua i7 is a dual-SIM phone features a 5-inch Full HD (1080p) display and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass for scratch and impact protection. The Aqua i7 is powered by MediaTek’s 1.5 GHz Quad-core processor. The device comes with 2GB RAM, something which you won’t find in other mid-range smartphones. The Aqua i7 doesn’t have a memory card slot but comes with 32GB of internal storage capacity of which 28GB is available to user. In addition to that, Intex Cloud app gives the user 5GB of cloud storage. The Aqua i7 comes with a 13MP primary camera and a 5MP secondary camera. The battery capacity being 2000mAh, the talk-time is expected to be of 7 hours. The device is 7.88 mm thick and has a glossy finish.
Speaking of the software, the phone runs on Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean which is heavily customized by Intex. The phone comes with a bunch of pre-loaded apps such has Intex Zone, Intex Play, Matrabhasha (a multi-lingual application) and NQ Vault & Security (Anti-Virus apps).
The phone comes in only two colors, Black and White. Intex has thrown in some goodies such as a Flip cover, screen guard and a keychain which will be included in the package. The device is priced at Rs. 21,990 and will be available in stores starting from the second week of September.
