Steps to Locate or Erase your Lost Android Phone
Step 1. Log onto Google Find My Device using the same Google account as on the lost phone.
Step 2. You will be prompted to enter your password. Enter your password to continue.
Step 3. Now on the next page, you can either Ring it or Locate. Ringer feature shall make the phone ring. The locate feature shall let you know the exact location of the phone on Google Maps.
Step 4. (Optional) You can also check for recent security events on your phone for suspicious activity.
Step 5. (Optional) You can also lock your lost Android smartphone remotely using the lock your phone option here. You can set a custom password and write a note for the phone finder. Also, you can provide a phone number for the finder to contact you. Everything shall be prompted to the finder on the lock screen of the phone.
Step 6. (Optional) Try calling your phone – If you can’t remember your number, ask a friend or use Contacts to look it up. You can also try to make a call using Hangouts or a similar service.

Step 9. (Optional) Last but not least, you can any time erase all the private data on the phone to secure your self. Although data on the memory card will be untouched. Once you erase, Find your phone, Android Manager won’t be able to communicate with your phone. You’ll permanently lose access to all info on your device that wasn’t recently backed on to Google. For all this to happen your phone should be connected to the internet. Still, you can perform the erase and it will be done anytime the phone comes online.
