Mi Mix 2 Bezel-Less Smartphone from Xiaomi Launched In India

Finally, a real bezel-less smartphone is here and it’s from non-other than Xiaomi itself. The new flagship from Xiaomi is called the Mi Mix 2 and being bezel-less is the USP this phone carries. The smartphone got launched in India today and is being shipped for a price tag of Rs. 35999 and would be available on Flipkart and Mi.com. The Mi Mix 2 is said to give tough competition for flagships from other premium brands.


The display on the smartphone is a 5.99 inch IPS screen (18:9 aspect ratio) which sports 1080 x 2160 pixels with a combined pixel density of 403 ppi. It does support multitouch and is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 on the top. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 features a ceramic body with a 7-Series aluminum frame and a 18K gold plated camera ring on the rear panel.

Due to the absence of top bezel the phone uses ‘hidden sound-guided speaker’ that resonates sound through the display and frame. Out of the box, you will get MIUI 9 on top of Android 7.1 nougat.


Inside the same, you get Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset with an Octa-Core CPU along with Adreno 540 GPU for gaming. There is no memory expansion possible and you have to settle down with 6GB RAM and 128 GB of internal memory which as of now will be made available via an exclusive preview sale on October 17. Availability for all will begin on the first week of November and would extend the sale rights to consumers via authorized third-party retailers soon. The Sad part here is that you won’t be getting any launch offers this time other than what we get usually and the 3.5 mm audio jack is also missing.


The camera department is facilitated with a 12 MP, f/2.0 aperture based rear snapper which supports 4 axis OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) with dual-tone LED flash, phase detection autofocus and houses a Sony IMX386 sensor. On the front, there is a  regular 5 MP snapper which is just a regular selfie camera placed on the bottom front. The front camera is also having face recognition capabilities for unlocking the device.

Connectivity features include WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC & USB type c reversible connector. The fingerprint scanner is rear mounted with extra support for accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, and barometer. Quick charge 3.0 is supported on a non-removable 3400 mAh battery. Overall weight is 185 grams and is 7.7 mm thick. It will be shipped in black and white colors and would cost you Rs. 35999.
