HMD global, the parent company to Nokia has finally made the Nokia 2.2 official in India. This phone is considered to be the most affordable smartphone having a teardrop notch display, 13 MP rear camera, and 3,000 mAh battery. The phone comes with Android 9.0 and would be upgraded with Android Q as a part of Android One. The phone has been priced at Rs. 6,999 which makes it the most affordable phone with all the above features.
Nokia 2.2 Specifications
Nokia 2.2 is 9.3 mm thick with an overall weight of 153 g. On the front is a 5.71 IPS LCD display having 720 x 1520 pixel screen resolution. The display produces 295 PPI as pixel density. Nokia 2.2 also features a dedicated button for Google Assistant.
As a part of Android One Program, the phone shall be coming with Android 9 Pie out of the box and shall get guaranteed update to Android Q as and when available.
Inside the phone sits the Mediatek MT6761 Helio A22 chipset on a Quad Core processor clocked at 2.0 GHz. The processor is coupled with PowerVR GE8320 GPU for handling graphics on the phone. Memory is expandable up to 400 GB via microSD card and comes in two variants 32GB internal and 3 GB RAM or 16 GB internal and 2 GB RAM.
As far as optics are concerned the phone rocks, 13 MP rear camera having f/2.2 aperture and LED flash. The rear camera features “AutoHDR” and “Low light image fusion” technology. On the front, is a 5 MP camera for selfies and face recognition for security.
Unfortunately, the phone does not comes with a fingerprint sensor and gets its power from a 3,000 mAh battery which also does not support any sort of fast charging.
The phone shall be retailing in tungsten black and steel colors to choose from. Till June 30, the variant with 3GB/32GB internals shall be offered at Rs. 7,999 and another variant with 2GB/16GB internals will be offered for Rs. 6,999 post which the phones shall be sold for Rs. 7,699 and Rs. 8,699 respectively. The smartphone would be available for purchase at mobile retail outlets, Flipkart and Nokia.com/phones starting June 11.
