HMD Global backed Nokia has just launched its budget offering Nokia 4.2 to the Indian smartphone market. It has been priced for Rs. 10990. The phone is packed with some decent specs and aims to capture the budget segment market.
Body
The design is slightly on the thicker side with 8.4 mm with a combined weight of 161 g. Comes with dual standby Nano Sim. The build quality is really premium and stands out for the price bracket. It has all the usual buttons, plus an additional dedicated Google Assistant button, and like recent Nokia phones, the power button acts as the notification LED.
Display
Nokia 4.2 features 5.71 inch IPS LCD display having 720 x 1520 pixel resolution. The display produces 295 PPI as pixel density and has a screen to body ratio of 76.6 %. The front panel is a sculpted-glass design type along with a teardrop notch.
Hardware & Android Version
It comes with Android One program having Android 9.0 Pie with regular updates. Inside the phone, you get Snapdragon 439 Octa-core SoC coupled with Adreno 505 GPU. Whereas internals is concerned you get 32GB internal memory on 3 GB RAM and 16 GB internals on 2 GB RAM. The memory is further expandable up to 400 GB via microSD card.
Camera
For Rs. 10990 you get a dual camera setup of 13 MP (f/2.2 aperture) + 2 MP on the rear side. On the front side, you get am 8 MP selfie shooter having f/2.0 aperture.
Connectivity Features & Others
For connectivity, the phone uses WLAN, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC, Radio and a pretty disappointed micro USB 2.0. The fingerprint sensor is rear mounted along with accelerometer and proximity.
Battery & Colors
Nokia 4.2 packs in decent 3000 mAh battery and would be shipped in black and pink sand colors to choose from.
Price & Availablity
The phone as earlier mentioned would be costing Rs. 10990. Starting May 7, the Nokia 4.2 will be sold exclusively on the official Nokia website for 7 days. From May 14, the device will be available exclusively through retail outlets and partners like Croma, Reliance, Sangeetha, Poorvika, Big C and MyG. From May 21, the Nokia 4.2 will be available at leading retail stores.
