You have the slot for the Micro-SD card and the USB port on the right side of the phone. On the top of there is a charger port and a slot to connect 3.5mm audio jack. Back side of the phone has VGA camera and speakers.

Pros:

  • It is a very stylish and good-looking device.
  • It has excellent music features with separate music key and good loud speakers on the back.
  • The phone is perfect for fans of social networking sites such as Facebook, since it very well-integrated and has a home screen widget.
  • The phone also has support for chat clients such as Google talk and Yahoo and even access to Internet.
  • You can try out new applications and games through the Ovi store which is pretty good for a S40 device.
  • The device is reasonably priced and there are lots of colors to choose from.

Cons:

  • The camera resolution is very basic and picture clarity is poor.
  • It would have been better if there was a volume rocker on the side of the phone, as it sometimes gets irritating that you cannot increase/decrease volume while playing games or using music player and FM radio.
  • The package does not come with a USB connector to connect to a computer and there is no free memory card in the box.
  • The entire usage manual is in Hindi, which although is the national language, is inconvenient for other users.

Mobile Gyaan Verdict:

There are many positives for this phone and the negative point are less. For a budget phone it is okay if the phone does not have a great camera but these days Wi-Fi has become a necessity and due to lack of it, you will entirely have to depend on the GPRS plan offered by your service provider. Although if you can increase your budget by around Rs.1500 more, you could go for the Nokia C3, which offers both Wi-Fi and a good 2MP camera.

We feel the Nokia X2-01 is ideal for those users who want a good social networking phone with excellent music features in a low-budget. The phone is ideal for chatting and messaging with the QWERTY keypad and the speaker is really loud. The Battery life is also pretty good and it can last 1-2 days for normal usage and longer, if the usage is less.

The current market price of the Nokia X2-01 is Rs 3,800. So, those who are looking for phone that has social networking and Music, do check this handset.
