Samsung has finally launched the Galaxy A80 in the country. The phone is first of its kind to feature a rotating triple rear camera. The Rear camera module pops up and flip rotates the unit to make it a front-facing shooter. The phone also features an infinity S-AMOLED display which houses the fingerprint sensor as well.

The Samsung device has been marked at a price of Rs. 47,990 for a variant consisting of 8 GB RAM and 128 GB internal memory. There will be no more memory options for this device. Also as a part of an introductory offer, if consumers have a Citi bank debit or credit card then they can also avail a flat cashback of 5 percent.

The sale shall begin from August 1 and shall be available across major online retail stores including e-shop, Samsung Opera House. The phone shall also be available on Pre-Orders which can be booked from July 22 to July 31. User’s who pre-book the device are also entitled to get one-time screen replacement.

The Galaxy phone is slightly thicker with 9.3 mm and weighs 220 g in total. The front of the phone is covered with Gorilla Glass 3 and the back end has got the Gorilla Glass 6. The chassis of the phone is made up of aluminum. The display on the phone is a 6.7 inch super AMOLED display having 1080 X 2400 pixel screen resolution. The display panel features 20:9 aspect ratio and produces 393 PPI as pixel density. The display also houses the under-display fingerprint sensor.
Out of the box, the device shall be running on Android 9 Pie on top of Samsung One UI. Inside the phone is the Snapdragon 730 chipset on an Octacore CPU coupled with Adreno 618 GPU. The phone lacks a dedicated memory slot and the phone offers only 8GB of RAM and 128GB of native storage.

The rear camera module is a triple sensor set of a 48-megapixel wide lens, 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens and the third tertiary module is a TOF 3D camera having f/2.0, f/2.2 and f/1.2 aperture respectively. The main USP of the phone is the rear camera module which also acts as a front-facing camera. The rear module pops up and rotates in order to become the front-facing selfie shooter. The rear module also has got a LED flash and HDR support.
For connectivity, the phone includes 3.5 mm audio jack, WLAN, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, and USB type C. The phone is powered by a 3,700 mAh battery which supports 25W fast charging out of the box.
