Recently at the India Telecom 2010, Huawei has confirmed that it will launch its affordable Android handset – Huawei Ideos, before the end of this year (Source: www.androidos.in). Huawei is an International handset maker based out of China, and has already launched this phone in US and Europe, where it was quite a success. This phone will have the Google Android 2.2 operating system and is likely to be priced below Rs. 8000.
Specifications of Huawei Ideos:
- 2.8 inch capacitive touch screen
- 3.2 MP camera
- 528MHz processor CPU
- Android 2.2 Froyo
- Wifi
- 3G
- GPS
- 3.5mm audio jack
- Accelerometer
- Proximity sensor
- MicroSD card storage
As already mentioned above, the Huawei Ideos will be priced very attractively at below Rs.8000 and will give a tough fight to the phones already present in this segment being the Samsung Galaxy 5 and the Micromax Andro A60. It might not be the cheapest of the lot but already has an advantage of the only entry-level model having Android 2.2 (Froyo) OS. Lets hope it releases soon to give buyers the ability to choose from a variety of phones in this segment also.
