Oppo had already launched a new series with the Reno, Reno 10X zoom and the Reno 5G (China) which had a unique wedge shape selfie camera. Into the series, Oppo has introduced the new Reno Z which would not take up the wedge shape selfie camera instead would have a water drop notch to house the selfie snapper along with a 48 MP rear camera. The phone also features an Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P90 chipset.
Oppo Reno Z Specifications
The Reno Z would feature glass on the front and back with a plastic frame. The phone measures a thickness of 9.1 mm and weighs 186 g. On the front, you get a 6.4 inch AMOLED touchscreen which has a screen to body ratio of 85.3 percent. The display supports a screen resolution of 1080 X 2340 pixels which produces 403 pixels per inch. The display is also accompanied by an under display fingerprint sensor. Android 9 Pie would be the choice of the operating system with the company’s proprietary skin Color OS 6 on top.
Inside the phone is where you get a MediaTek MT6779 Helio P90 (12nm) chipset on an OctaCore CPU coupled with Power VR GM9446 GPU. Oppo Reno Z lacks a dedicated memory slot hence comes with 128/256 GB internal memory along with standard 6GB of RAM.
The camera department features a dual setup of 48 MP primary sensor having f/1.7 aperture coupled with 5 MP secondary depth sensor on the rear. The rear camera also features dual LED flash, HDR and Panorama. The rear camera can shoot 2160p video at 30FPS and 1080p videos at 30/60/120fps and stabilizes the video using EIS. The front shooter is a single 32 MP sensor having f/2.0 aperture.
Connectivity features on the phone include WLAN, 3.5 mm audio jack, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, and USB Type C. Oppo Reno Z is powered by a non-removable 4035 mAh battery which supports VOOC 3.0 20W fast charging. The phone is expected to launch in bead white, Coral Orange, extreme night black and star purple colors to choose from. Sources claim that the company is also expected to launch a Reno inspiration edition but nothing is out yet.
Oppo Reno Z is priced at CNY 2,499 (approx Rs. 25,000) for both 6GB + 256GB and 8GB + 128GB variants of the phone. The Reno Z will go on sale beginning June 6 in China. However, the reservations are now open in the country.
