Here is a detailed Comparison of two mega phones in the high-end market being the Google Nexus S and Apple iPhone 4. The Nexus S is a recent entry in the market of smartphones and runs on Google Android 2.3 Operating system. I don’t think there is need for any introduction for the Apple iPhone, since it is the most wanted device in the premium handset market. This is the fourth version of Apple’s device and runs on the extremely popular iOS with a 1 GHz Apple A4 processor.

Mobile Gyaan Verdict:
Both the above handsets are super phones in their respective category of OS being the Google Android and iPhone OS (iOS). The iPhone has a few disadvantages like support for only Micro SIM card and it is even more expensive when compared to the Nexus S. The minus points with regard to the Google Nexus S is that its Android OS is comparatively new and has fewer down-loadable apps when compared to the iPhone.
Finally, I’d say that when you compare both phones, they don’t seem to be many differences besides their individual OS. Normally, one would select the iPhone amongst these two due to the sheer factor of brand value and the fact that it is just like a status symbol. But I don’t see any harm in going in for the Nexus S as it is less expensive and offers more or less the same features. It also won our comparison test with Google Nexus One and Samsung Galaxy S.
Applle rocks
apple h/w and software and their brillancy on user interface and quality.
We should compare apple recent version vs apple last version (lol)
others google soogle are not in the view 😛
However windows mobile 7 is also a good alternative
Do you have knowledge from where the Apple hardware comes? First understand it, and then make comment on Nexus S. Probably later has better hardware than Apple if you know the true hardware secrets! Only things Apple make is software(not sure why it is closed as they use BSD variant), Hype and Marketing. And yes, some technology dumb fans like you too
Some techie is here to talk about google phones. Remember Nexus 1..
You must have shouted your throat out for that too..
i hate apple’s marketing tactics
When it is compared with Motorola atria & LG Optimus 2X ,it lacks & gets its ass kicked in every spec
Nexus S does not have a SD card slot (like iPhone)…Its not a game changer phone……No problem as there is a slew of cellphones with external card storage and dual core processors in February
I myself own a iPhone 4 and cannot get the feel of it on any other phone, it’s an amazing device.
Hmm… iPhone is great yet, I would vouch for the Nexus… coz its soo… geeky to play around.. I get to do what ever I can with my mobile apps.. create my own apps and use it… Wow.. Even those without technical knowledge can create their app at http://appinventor.googlelabs.com/about/ . I saw the UI of Android 3.0 aka Honecomb… Its sooo zanny and cool.. Well, I wonder, these Android guys must be working really hard to get such a beautiful stuff.. The rest depends on the hardware manufacturers(viz. Samsung, HTC, Motorola, Sony, Videocon, Micromax etc), how best a product they can create to beat iPhone..
Best of luck Google…
The abvoe specified price for Nexus S in not correct.. or atleast as per infibeam. The have listed it fot 24K.. So that makes a major difference..
One important hardware difference not listed here is the NFC chip support in the Nexus S. This is a technology that could have great applications in the future.
While Android may have fewer apps, it certainly has more free apps in the Android Market.
Over all the assessment appears to be unfairly loaded towards iPhone based on perceptual (subjective) intangibles like ‘status symbol’, ‘brand value’ and lacks any real basis.
Really Very Good Comparison of iPhone 4 and Nexus. Thanks
The most useless review i have ever read!! What a waste of time.
Hi kartik very good comparisdion and useful info .Excellent keep it up with more articles.
@All above:
Thanks for your feedback!
@Mee:
We will try to compare that too, in a future post.
@Sashi:
The choice depends from person to person
@Vipin:
Infibeam listing seems to be a fake one. Check this post to know more about their marketing tactics.
@Manoj:
Thanks for showing your concern about the post. It was purely a personal take. No hard feelings mate. 🙂
@Bow:
Its not a review. Just a comparison post. 🙂
@Kolluru N Rao:
Indeed! 🙂
can some one guide me were these two phones are available in India (Bangalore) and which one is best to go for…. i am in great confusion which to buy…..
Both of them are not available in India officially. You can buy them from ebay.in or some other online vendors.
thanks for the info deepak
My pleasure, Nicks! 🙂
Hey kartik see if you can give info on touchscreen phones as they are favoured nowadays as they are user friendly…….Dad.
Very little to choose between models having compared the 2. went for nexus, simply better range of free apps. found apple user experience bit flashy but limited functionality. Also dont like the idea of apple bricking my phone if i put an unapproved app on it.
That is completely personal choice!
FnkuGG Very true! Makes a change to see someone spell it out like that. 🙂
