Here is a detailed Comparison of two mid-level Google Android OS phones, being the LG Optimus One and HTC Wildfire. Both phones were released recently during this year and are more or less priced in the same range.
Comparison of LG Optimus One & HTC Wildfire:
Verdict: Many features in both the phones are similar, however one major plus point in regards LG Optimus One is its OS being Android 2.2 Froyo and even the screen is more better as compared to that of HTC Wildfire. The Optimus One even has a faster processor with a 600 MHz CPU and 512 MB RAM. The HTC however has a far better camera being 5 MP and also has an LED flash and even has extra features such as touch sensitive controls and an optical track pad.
Those of you who are on a tight budget, you can happily go in for LG but for those of you who want a smart phone from an Internationally acclaimed handset maker, you can go in for HTC. The Wildfire will even satisfy you thoroughly in respectย of the digital camera. There is another phone in this category โ Samsung Galaxy 3. You can check our past review of Samsung galaxy 3 phone and also Unboxing pics of Samsung Galaxy 3.
Great website with tons of infomation. I have to select one among Samsung Galaxy 3, HTC Wildfire, LG Optimus One. Which one would you recommend?
Also any other mobile having same features set as these 3 have?
Regards,
Pranav
please go for wildfire because it gets android 2.2 and features are also more than both.
@ Pranav : Thanks! As far as the 3 phones are concerned, I have personal experience with the Galaxy and it is a very good handset at an affordable price. However, if your budget permits you can go in for the Wildfire or Optimus one as the LG has android 2.2 and even the HTC is getting an update in India by feb. Other mobiles within this category would include Sony ericcson Xperia X8 and X10 mini..but the battery life is comparatively weak in these phones. You can check out our review posts of Samsung Galaxy 3 and HTC Wildfire also.
Thanks Kartik.
Yes, I saw the reviews and got confused as to me all three looks similar in terms of features. My budget is up to 15k.
So, based on services centers, value for money and features which one should I go for?
@Pranan:
In my opinion, if your budget is 15K, then wildfire should be the best option for you as it has the best camera among all the 3 handsets along with flash. The major disadvantage that Wildfire had was, it wasn’t upgradable (officially) to Android 2.2 AKA Froyo but HTC has already started rolling the froyo update for Wildfire.
You can check out the comments on this post and the reaction about wildfire.
I would be buying ‘LG optimus one’ today. Except camera other features are far better in LG optimus one than compared to HTC wildfire.
Thanks Deepak and Kartik for your comments.
@Pranav:
Glad we were of your help. Hope you can post your review and help SK to make a wise decision. ๐
Hey Pranav, I too am planning to buy LG Optimus One tomorrow. So, how was the first day experience with
O1? Did it fulfil ur expectations? And how much did
you get it for? Best price in Bangalore is 12.5K!!
hey i like wildfire, but a bit concerned about htc’s service & also likes to know if wildfire can cope up in indian climate. i heard dat wildfire is soft phone. does this phone has solid body ?
thanks
@Mandeep:
You get 1 year warranty from HTC India when you purchase it officially in India. Many of my friends in India are using it without any problem.
Hi I am planning to buy an android mobile within the budget of INR 15000. i actually have shortlisted LG Optimus one and HTC wildfire which are within my budget and Android phone, please advice which one should i go ahead with…. or is their any better models available…?
Please read the last para of this post. We’ve already posted our views about both of them!
is it true that the android market dosn’t fully funtion for vodaphone users
I haven’t heard any such thing.
Hi Deepak,
After reading your comments still i have bit confusion on the above 2 phones.
my requirement is to have good:
1. performance & multitasking
2. touch screen should be very sensitive
3 camera pictures and
4. internet should be fast.
45Sound quality for music and for the call?
I heard HTC has got very low performance is tocuh screen, internet speed, sound calls are not good correct me if am wrong.
Few my are using HTC phone so they have suggest to cross check the above flaws in HTC wildfire before i buy.
And both the phones will support quick office and editor(word, ppt, pdd excel)?
Please tell which one is the best to buy and should have good performance without any problem.
Thanks
Rahul,
Bangalore
Hi Rahul, agree with the display issues with W/f. But still that is not very bad.
I would advise you to step-in to some good mobile store (like reliance digital) where you can get demo for both the products and choose one among the two that you like the most personally. ๐
Hi Deepak,
Surely will check that today itself only.
So which one is the best to go? Opt or W/F?
Its very responsive… it has good performance.. sound quality is very clear and loud.. internet is damn fast… fash support for the browser is superb.. no probs…. camera pics won’t be Cristal clear after you take the pic and view it in your cell as the screen resolution is less, but in PC its very clear…
i’d suggest the LG O1… coz it has better specifications.. if you are not concerned of the less mega pixel camera then i’d suggse the O1
HI,
I’m using htc wildfire n one day i dropped my phone on to a tarred road.. alas nothing happened ๐ its strong…i thought it wil break into pieces as soon as i dropped it… its an awesome phone.. loved it ๐
That’s really nice! Congrats for that ๐
hey frends..
your comments and suggestions helped me a lot too.. i was deciding on HTC wf or samsung galaxy.. i will chk opt1 too now and c which is better.. i work for media so i need a mp3 recorder and a HD recording feature.. needless to say net has to be good too.. is there any other phone competing with HTC wf or LGo1
Glad to know we were of help. If you are on a low budget, Samsung Galaxy Ace is a good option too.
Hi Deepak
Hope you are doing great. Letโs come to the point. I have updated all my contacts and address with photos in my Gmail account. I am also accessing same from my HTC wildfire. But the problem is i am unable to access address and Photo’s. Can you please tell me how to sync all the details into my mobile?
Ganesh, sorry for late reply. I’ve been busy with some personal problems.
Well, ironically I’ve never come across any such issues and I would suggest you to do a master reset of your android phone and try syncing again.
i want a phone near 13000bugs . in which there is capacitive touch screen + a good camera with flash
m thinking to buy htc wildfire but i heard that it gets hang or too slow while even opening a msg! is it true ??
Instead go for Samsung Galaxy Ace!
what about nokia c7 ? as it records d HD video! plz help me ////////
a phone which records a good clear video +capacitive touch screen + a good camera with flash
C7 has the outdated Symbian operating system and you’ll surely gonna love the Android experience.
I would still suggest for Samsung Galaxy Ace.
but samsung ace has poor video recording ???r8 ?????
hey new wildfire S also realeased now how abt it ?
Never came through such video recording problems.
Either of the 2, W/f S or Ace is a good phone to go for.
