The official Facebook application for BlackBerry smartphones 2.0 and BlackBerry PlayBook 2.0 is now available for download from the BlackBerry App World. This app has several new features, better user interface and enhanced integration with BlackBerry native apps.

New Features:

• Facebook Places: Through this, users can share details regarding their whereabouts with their friends in Facebook. They can also get directions, to and from Facebook Places by clicking on the map image.
• View ‘Likes’: Check out the names of the friends who have ‘Liked’ your post and get direct direct access to their profile by tapping on their name.
• Facebook Events: BlackBerry 2.0 users can now also view events and birthdays and receive notifications of new invitations. You can also RSVP and write on the event’s Wall.
• Privacy control on status updates: Users can ensure privacy by controlling who can see which update they share. Simply click the lock icon in the lower-right corner of the status publisher to select who to make the status update visible to before posting it.
