Airtel’s Rs 799 prepaid plan revised, now get unlimited calls and 3.5GB data for 28 days

Airtel has revised its Rs 799 plan and users will now be getting unlimited local and national calls along with free roaming, 100 local and national SMS per day and 3.5GB 3G or 4G data per day. The plan will have a validity of 28 days. Moreover, you can get a cashback of Rs 75 if you recharge using the Airtel Payments Bank.

However, there’s a small catch. The unlimited calling is restricted to 250 minutes per day and 1,000 minutes per week.

Last year, Bharti Airtel had introduced the Rs. 799 plan which offered 3GB data per day with unlimited local and STD calls and 100 messages per day. The validity of the plan was same. So the only difference that the revision brings is that now you get more data for the same price. Post-revision, the customer gets a total of 98 GB data in 28 days, which was 84 GB prior to the revision.

Jio vs Airtel: Which has a better Rs 799 Plan?

No point for guessing that the company is targetting to counter the Jio’s Rs. 799 plan. Reliance Jio also has a similar plan where it offers unlimited local and STD calls and SMS along with 3GB 4G data per day. The plan is also valid for 28 days.

When it comes to the comparison, Airtel is better if data is your priority as you get 0.5GB extra per day. However, consider Jio if you do a lot of calling since Jio has no restrictions on its unlimited plan like Airtel.
