According to a recent report by the TOI, Some new entrants and the upcoming launch of Mobile Number Portability will force the Indian telecom industry to be more competitive and also reduce the present call tariffs. According to reports, in Kolkata circle alone, two new players will be entering the telecom market that already has 5 operators ? Airtel, Vodafone, BSNL, Reliance, and Aircel Ltd. For the existing 5 operators, Mobile Number Portability is like adding salt to wound along with the news of 2 new entrants in Kolkata Circle.
We say, MNP will be a boon for the customers that will bring many more changes in the Indian Telecom industry and also, customers will get an opportunity to avail state-of-art services and facilities.
It seems, the launch of Mobile Number Portability (MNP) will be a wait and watch game, both for the operators and the customers. Hope, unlike 3G services, MNP will be introduced within the expected date so that customers can avail of quality services at best prices.
