Chinese smartphone manufacturer Gionee has taken off the wraps on its latest offering in India, being the Gionee S6s Selfie-Focused smartphone. It has tweeted here that it will reveal its latest offering at an event on Monday, August 22nd in India. The S6s will be a “premium selfie” smartphone as mentioned in their tweet. The android smartphone will have a front camera with flash to promote its selfie theme. Other than that it will most likely have an all metal build, fingerprint scanner at the back and HD IPS display. The last feature was tweeted just today by Gionee and more teasers such as that are expected to come before its release. Unfortunately, no other details of the phone are currently known to us.
The S6s may share some features of its siblings, being the S6 and S6 Pro. They come with specifications such as a MediaTek Helio P10 chipset, 4 GB RAM, 64 GB expandable memory, 13 MP primary camera and an 8 MP front camera. They are priced in the range of around INR 20,000.
Gionee is one of the upcoming smartphone brands in India and has stiff competition from another Chinese selfie smartphone manufacturer being OPPO. The Gionee S6s will be up against the OPPO F1s, selfie expert smartphone, and the Coolpad Mega 2.5D.
So for all you selfie enthusiasts out there, mark your calendars for 22nd August, when this Premium Selfie smartphone will be released in India.
