The latest cell phone manufacturer to enter the fast-developing Indian cellular market is Singapore based mobile maker, Pine Mobiles. It is all set to begin its operations soon with the entry of its dual SIM phones namely, King, Executive, Bee and A1 and a triple SIM phone, The Trio. All these phones are being targeted at the rural segment, which primarily includes tier 2 and tier 3 cities. They first want to cover the northern and north-eastern areas of Punjab, Lucknow and Assam.
They are also planning on constructing a manufacturing division in India, which can reduce costs further. Pine mobiles has done well in countries such as Singapore, China, Sri Lanka and Nepal and hopefully will catch up with the rest of the low-cost mobile manufacturers in India.
The pricing has also been kept in a ultra-low level to attract more potential buyers and the phones will be available in the range of Rs 1800 – 4000.
