Sony India has now got one more feather on its cap by launching the mammoth Android smartphone – Xperia Z Ultra smartphone that spots a 6.4″ large full HD display, which as per Sony is the thinnest and largest full HD Android smartphone ever manufactured. Other significant features of the phone are its light weight and thin design (only 6.5 MM thin), waterproof, ability to easily take notes using any normal pen/pencil/stylus, powerful and latest Snapdragon 800 processor with 2 GB RAM that’s surely a great pros for power users.

The internal storage is 16 GB and can be expanded up to 64GB with a microSD card. The phone runs on Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 and comes with 3G and 4G connectivity. The device has an 8 MP camera with Full HD video recording. Just like the display, the non-removable battery is also quite large, at 3050 mAh.

As mentioned earlier, the phone display is 6.4″ large, and we would personally not consider it as a phone (as termed officially) or a phablet, but something in-line with a tablet.

The device comes in White, Black and Purple colors. The retail price of the device is Rs. 46,990 and is available online for Rs. 45,000 approx.

Sony has also bundled a couple of goodies with the phone.

  • 8GB of free data usage for first two months from Vodafone.
  • 1 month of BigFlix premium subscription
  • Asphalt 7 comes preloaded.

Here’s our fist impression of the phone:
