With the evolution of WhatsApp, we have seen a lot of features getting on board. There are numerous features which really make this realtime messaging app a bliss for users. Now privacy is something that we always binge for. Hiding your profile picture is one of the privacy concerns everyone has these days, especially females. WhatsApp gives you a setting which lets you choose to whom you want to enable the profile picture and for whom you would like to hide it. So let us see how can we do this.
Hide Profile Pictures From Everyone
When you enable this feature, no matter who it is will not be able to view your profile picture. Doing this is very simple.
- Log on or open your WhatsApp account.
- Click on three vertical dots on the main screen on WhatsApp.
- From there click on “Settings” from the drop-down menu.
- Inside Settings, click on “Account“.
- Head towards, “Privacy” and click on “Profile Photo“.
- Now simply select “Nobody” from the resultant menu.
This would totally disable people from viewing your profile photo even if its a known contact. Preferably a good privacy option for females. Once you activate the option, the same shall be synced with your account even if you change your phone in the near future.
Display Profile Picture to contacts
With this setting in action, only people in your contacts would be able to view your profile picture.
- Log on or open your WhatsApp account.
- Click on three vertical dots on the main screen on WhatsApp.
- From there click on “Settings” from the drop-down menu.
- Inside Settings, click on “Account“.
- Head towards, “Privacy” and click on “Profile Photo“.
- Now simply select “My contacts” from the resultant menu.
If you have an individual contact saved in your phonebook, only those individuals would be able to access your profile picture on WhatsApp.
Display Profile Picture to Everyone
This setting would display your WhatsApp profile picture to each and everyone who would have a WhatsApp account along with your phone number.
- Log on or open your WhatsApp account.
- Click on three vertical dots on the main screen on WhatsApp.
- From there click on “Settings” from the drop-down menu.
- Inside Settings, click on “Account“.
- Head towards, “Privacy” and click on “Profile Photo“.
- Now simply select “Everyone” from the resultant menu.
