The Facebook phone by HTC rumors are now true. HTC officially launched two new phones HTC Chacha and HTC Salsa. These phones will also have dedicated Facebook button and run tweaked HTC sense UI on top of Android 2.3 (Gingerbread).
Features of HTC Chacha and Salsa
- Salsa has 3.4 inch 480 x 320 Capacitive touch screen
- Chacha has 2.6 inch 480 x 320 Capacitive touch screen and a QWERTY keyboard.
- 600MHz Qualcomm MSM7227 processor.
- 512MB and 512MB ROM.
- 5 MP camera with auto focus and LED flash and secondary VGA camera.
During the launch Peter Chou, CEO of HTC, said
HTC has always understood that different people want different things and the new HTC ChaCha and Salsa offer special new ways to experience Facebook on a mobile device.
Henri Moissinac, Facebookâs Head of Mobile Business, said
We have worked closely with HTC for several years on bringing Facebook to their devices and HTC ChaCha and HTC Salsa are the next stage.
The Facebook button is also content aware which will light up to do different functions like sharing url of site, pictures and uploading or tagging pictures based on the user’s operation. These phones will launch globally by Q2 of 2011.
