The Vivo V9 features a 6.3-inch elongated display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2280 pixels. It is a full view display with a 19:9 aspect ratio, which is completely bezel-less except a notch that sits at the top. So if you were fantasized by the iPhone X design, you can now pocket the same for less than half of the price. A fingerprint scanner is present just below the rear camera module.

The Oppo F7 comes with a slightly smaller 6.23-inch touchscreen with the same features and resolution as the V9. You get the same Full-HD+ resolution with the same bezel-less screen and the same notch.

Both the smartphones get Corning Gorilla Glass protection for the display.

As for the configuration, the Vivo V9 is equipped with an octa-core Snapdragon 626 SoC, which clocks at a speed of 2.2GHz. The Oppo F7, on the other hand, gets 2GHz octa-core Helio P60 chipset, which is also a great performer, but lacks a bit when it comes to processing a heavy amount of graphics.

The 64GB variants of both the smartphone get 4GB RAM. In addition, the Oppo F7 comes with a 128GB variant that packs 6GB RAM under the hood.

Both the brands have marketed themselves as the camera phone makers, hence expecting some seriously powerful lenses on the flagship models is evident.

The Vivo V9 is armed with a dual primary camera setup (16MP + 5MP) with CMOS image sensor, phase-detection autofocus and dual-LED flash. Besides a great performance while photography and videography, the smartphone also lets you record 4k videos at 30 fps. A 24MP camera sits at the front for the selfie lover inside you.

Battery and storage

The V9 gets a 3,260mAh Li-ion battery, which might not stand a full day if you are a heavy user. The Oppo F7 does no better in this department with a 3,400mAh Li-ion battery.

Vivo V9 vs Oppo F7: A close call

It’s a close call between the Vivo V9 and the F7 as both of them have a number of similar features. However, the V9 has better camera features and the dual-primary lenses are also capable of recording 4k videos. Though the base model (64GB variant) of the F7 is a little bit cheaper, I will advise you to go for the Vivo V9 for better features.
