Xiaomi’s new budget Y series is something every selfie lover would look up for. The series is specially designed and equipped with industry-standard hardware and camera setup. The selfie camera’s on both the devices lets you capture sharper and more vibrant self-portraits and Beautify 3.0 software feature enhances your natural beauty while preserving original facial details every time. Redmi Y1

Xiaomi Redmi Y1 is 7.7 mm thick with an overall weight of 153 g. Features a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with 1280 x 720 p resolution having Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on the top. Out of the box, you will have Android 7.1.2 Nougat with MIUI 9 beta update.

Inside is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 chipset with octa-core 64-bit CPU clocked at 1.4 GHz coupled with Adreno 505 GPU. Will be shipped in 2 variants, one with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal memory, another having 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal memory. Further expansion via microSD cards up to 256 GB is possible.

Front Camera has got a 16 MP sensor coupled with LED Selfie-light having f/2.0 aperture and is a 76.4-degrees wide-angle lens which has got 1.0-micron pixel size.

Rear Camera, on the other hand, is a 13 MP shooter having a f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, 1.12-micron pixel size with 5 piece lens. As usual fingerprint sensor is rear mounted and is powered by a 3,080 mAh battery.

Price in India for 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal memory would be Rs. 8999 and for 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal memory would be Rs. 10999.

Redmi Y1 Lite

Xiaomi Redmi Y1 Lite is 7.6 mm thick with an overall weight of 150 g. Redmi Y1 Lite features 5.5 inch IPS LCD display having 1280 x 720 p resolutions and a pixel density of 267 PPI. For protection, the display uses Corning gorilla glass 3. The operating system on the phone would be Android 7.1.2 nougat with MIUI 9 on top.

Inside the same, you get Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset with a Quad Core CPU coupled with Adreno 308 CPU. Memory option with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal memory which is further expandable up to 256 GB via micro sd Card. The camera on the rear is a 13 MP sensor having a f/2.2 aperture with PDAF and LED Flash. The front camera is a 5 MP snapper with f/2.0 aperture. There is no fingerprint sensor included and is powered by 3080 mAh battery and will be priced in India at Rs. 6999.

Both the smartphones will be available exclusively on Amazon India, Xiaomi’s owned website mi.com including other few brand authorized offline retailers. Will be available in Gold and Dark Grey colors to choose from. The first sale is expected to go online starting 12 noon on November 8.
