Kharagpur happens to be the recent city in the country, and 2nd in West Bengal to witness Airtel India’s high-speed 4G wireless network. The company announced the launch at a launch event in the city, in the presence of Mr. Ravinder Singh Negi, CEO – West Bengal & Odisha.
As per an official statement from the brand, Airtel 4G services in Kharagpur has been deployed on dual spectrum bands – 2300 MHz and 1800 MHz which will help in both, quality and indoor coverage of 4G speeds on Airtel network.
Regarding the pricing, just like everywhere else, in Kharagpur city as well 4G data will be charged same as their 3G plans though customers will have to upgrade to free 4G SIM from Airtel before they can start using 4G services on their 4G enabled handsets.
To avail, complimentary 4G SIM cards, Airtel customers in Kharagpur city may either walk-in to their nearest Airtel store or, visit its Airtel 4G’s official web page and request for a free 4G SIM card delivered at their doorstep. Current SIM to 4G enabled SIM can be swapped by the customers themselves using a self-explanatory booklet attached with the SIM card.
During the launch of the event, Mr. Singh said:
