Black Shark 2 from Xiaomi to Launch in India on May 27

Xiaomi’s sub-brand the Black Shark gaming phone is scheduled to debut in India on May 27. The same was launched in China earlier this year and press invites have been distributed among for the event for this grand launch.

The phone focuses mainly on gamers and their requirements while gaming. Black Shark Gaming AI technology automatically detects and optimizes audio for games, movies, music, and more.

Build

Inspired by the bold lines and subtle curves of a luxury sports car, the Black Shark 2 is ergonomically crafted from aviation-grade frosted metal and glass. The phone which clearly aims at gamers comes handy with top-notch specs available in the market today. The phone measures 8.8 mm in thickness with a combined weight of 205g. Sadly the phone carries only a 4000 mAh battery which may not be apt for power users. The phone supports dual nano sim with dual standby.

Display

Black Shark 2 comes with 6.39 inch Super AMOLED true view display which sports 1080 x 2340 pixels which produce 403 ppi as pixel density.

Operating System

The sub-branded Xiaomi phone shall run Android 9.0 Pie out of the box. Will this run on MIUI or not is yet to be confirmed.

Hardware & Memory

Inside the phone, you get the latest Snapdragon 855 chipset on an Octa-Core CPU coupled with Adreno 640 GPU. The phone will not have an expandable memory but will offer 128GB/256GB internal memory with 6/8/12 GB RAM.

Camera

The Black Shark 2 would have a dual rear setup with primary 48MP (wide) snapper and 12 MP secondary telephoto lens along with LED flash, HDR and panorama. On the front side, you will get 20 MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture.

Connectivity & Other Features

The phone features WLAN, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB type c and dual front-facing stereo speakers which are 25 % bigger than standard smartphone speakers for that amazing sound while playing your favorite games. The phone shall also sport an under display fingerprint sensor along with an accelerometer, gyro, proximity and compass sensors.

Battery & Expected Pricing

As mentioned above the phone is powered by a nonremovable 4000 mAh battery which supports 27W fast charging out of the box. There is no official word on the pricing but sources claim it to ship for around Rs.40,000 or slightly more.
