The next generation of gaming smartphone from Asus is soon going to launch in China. The USP of this device is its amazing 120 Hz screen refresh rate. The phone may have to compete with already launched Black Shark 2 and the Nubia Red Magic 3.
Asus will be launching the gaming phone in association with Tencent games to offer in-depth gaming content for better user experience. Asus revealed on the Chinese microblogging site, Weibo that the phone shall be launching alongside the X570 motherboard series and the 30th-anniversary PRIME X299 Edition 30 motherboard.
According to Asus, the screen will allow for a “more refreshing experience” in games that are optimized for screens with super-high refresh rates. Official specs for the phone is not out as of now but speculations say that the phone might feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC, 10GB or 12GB of RAM along with 512GB of internal memory. The phone shall also offer the users with RGB lighting, 4K 60FPS video recording, liquid cooling and many more.
ASUS ROG PHONE Specifications
The first Asus Rog Phone was launched last year in June 2018. The phone featured an aluminum frame with gorilla glass 6 and 5 on the front and back panel respectively. The display was 6 inches with 1080 x 2160 pixels having 90Hz refresh rate.
Asus Rog Phone (First) was launched with Android Oreo 8.1 along with ROG Gaming X UI on top. Inside the phone is where the Snapdragon 845 chipset sits on an octa-core CPU coupled with Adreno 630 GPU. The phone was offered with 8GB RAM and 128/512GB internal memory.
The Asus gaming phone had a dual rear camera setup of a 12MP primary wide sensor having f/1.8 aperture and an 8MP secondary ultrawide sensor. It had a single 8MP shooter in the front for selfies. The fingerprint sensor was rear mounted with accelerometer, gyro, proximity and compass sensors. The phone was powered by a 4,000 mAh battery which supports 30W fast charging.
The above specs for Asus Rog Phone 2 are just speculations and unconfirmed leaks. The actual spec sheet will be out as soon as the phone is announced in China on July 23. Till then we cannot be sure of its arrival in India and the pricing.
