Recently Sony’s Xperia 2 renders were leaked online way ahead than the Xperia 1 could have seen the limelight. Now that the Xperia 1 and the Xperia 10 series were announced during the MWC 2019 we are getting some new leaks which suggest some possible renders and specs for the model which will be launched in Japan. The Japanese smartphone maker is also heading towards the launch of Xperia 2 and Xperia 20 series during the IFA 2019 scheduled to held in September.
According to a Chinese blog ithome.com, the phone features a huge chin on the top with a display having a cinematic 21:9 aspect ratio. The phone is also alleged to a dual rear camera setup aligned vertically.
The phone display will not have a notch as most of the modern phones are shipped with. It already has some good amount of chin present which houses the camera, receiver, and sensors. On the other hand, the display would be a Full HD+ screen. Inside the phone, you get the Snapdragon 710 chipset coupled with 4 or 6 GB of RAM along with 64 or 128 GB of internal storage. There is nothing been said for the memory expansion capability of the phone as of now. The Optics on the phone is said to be a dual 12-megapixel shooter and the front optics are similar as found on the Xperia 10. The phone will measure 158 x 69 x 8.1 mm but its weight is unknown. We do hope it packs a much bigger battery than the 2,870 mAh capacity of the Xperia 10.
The report also states that the new Xperia 20 smartphone will support three carrier versions. It will support DoCoMo, Au, and Softbank when it goes on sale. The expectation for this variant to launch in India is very much less as Sony has limited its smartphone business in India hence it may only launch in Japan as of now.
Since Sony purely has limited its reach in India as far as its products are concerned. We cannot assume it to offer any smartphones in India whether in a budget segment or a flagship segment.
